Display Polyester Tablecloths are printed via a process of dye-sublimation which uses special inks and undergo a post-print heating process to 'fix' the ink into the fabric. This makes it both scuff-resistant and washable.
Tablecloth Drop Length
You will need to know the amount of 'drop length' (also known as 'overhang') required from the edge of the table. This is the amount that the tablecloth will hang from the edge of the table down towards the floor.
For most situations, and especially where people will be sitting at a table, a 150mm to 200mm drop length is fine. For a longer drop length, such as the front of a table at a convention or expo, we recommend going much closer to the floor. The greater drop length grants more privacy as well as a larger area for branding.
For certain situations, a short drop length may be required at the back of the table, while a full-height drop length is required for the front and sides. Please bear this in mind when calculating your tablecloth size.
How to Order Rectangle Tablecloths
To determine the size of a rectangular tablecloth to order, you will first need to know the length and width of the table for which it will be used, as well as the drop length required. The height of the table is not strictly necessary, but will be needed if you would like the tablecloth to reach the floor.
Assuming a consistent drop length of 150mm around the whole table:
- Take the drop height and multiply it by two (e.g. 150mm × 2 = 300mm). This will be your 'drop addition'.
- Take the table length and add the 'drop addition' from above (e.g. 2000mm + 300mm = 2300mm). The finished length will be 2300mm.
- Take the table width and add the 'drop addition' from above (e.g. 1000mm + 300mm = 1300mm). The finished width will be 1300mm.
- The finished size to order will be 2300mm × 1300mm. Please order Display Polyester at this size with 'Hems Only' as the finish.
How to Order Circular Tablecloths
To determine the size of a circular tablecloth to order for a circular table, you will first need to know the diameter of the table for which it will be used.
- Take the table diameter and add the 'drop addition' from above (e.g. 1500mm + 300mm = 2800mm).
- The finished size to order will be 2800mm × 2800mm. Please order this size with 'Shape Cut' as the finish, and let us know that a circular shape is required.
Corners
As standard, rectangular tablecloths are made with right-angled corners, but rounded corners can be ordered at no extra charge. If you would prefer the tablecloth to avoid 'gathering' around the corners. Due to the nature of fabric finishing, a minimum corner radius of 300mm is required. If rounded corners are required, please let us know the radius/size of the rounded corners when ordering.
Commonly-Ordered Sizes
For a 6ft Trestle table (1800mm (W) × 740mm (D) × 725mm (H)) and a 600mm drop length, it is common to order a 3000mm × 1940mm tablecloth. View this tablecloth in our price calculator.
